John Marston studied Interior Design at Birmingham College of Art and Design and went on to work as a designer primarily in the hospitality and hotel sectors. After several years working for major companies during which he was involved in hotel refurbishments in both the UK and Europe he formed a partnership and practiced succesfully for 5 years designing bars and restaurants.

In 1988, he decided to diversify and began to illustrate interiors and architecture. Since then, he has worked constantly, producing high quality renderings for a variety of clients including many leading design and architectural practices.

In 1992 he escaped the ravages of recession by basing himself in Singapore, working on projects throughout Asia, during which time he further advanced his understanding and knowledge of international design trends.

On his return to the UK in 1998, he designed and built his own studio in South West London and worked producing illustration and building a portfolio of clients that incuded several major design companies.

In 2002 he decided to re-locate outside London and has just completed the design and build of a new house overlooking Brighton with plenty of room for the studio and space to indulge his passion for re-enacting the career as a major rock star that somehow passed him by!

2009 has seen yet another re-location. Having tired of the 'club' scene in Brighton, John and his wife Jilly, have taken on a 1920's villa in need of total refurbishment in the cathedral city of Chichester. Here there are slightly fewer clubs... none in fact, if you discount the tennis, cricket and Darby and Joan!

However, the studio is up and running, visuals are being produced to the same high standard, and new projects include a series of large scale abstract paintings for hotel public areas.
