The normal proceedure is as follows;
I will visit you and we will discuss your project,and view what material is available, plans, elevations, f.f.&e selections etc.
We will then decide on how many visuals are required and the probable angles of view. At this stage, you can make the decision as to whether the renderings will be in colour or black and white.
In many cases it is more cost effective to work in black and white as they can then be used as a basis for final colour presentation visuals when
all finishes and materials have been finalised and approved by your client.
I will have my trusty pencil and paper with me and sketch the likely angles to ascertain the best views.
At this stage all I need to take away, along with the plans, are photocopies of proposed furniture selections and sketch details of any particular design features.
I’m happy to add technical or creative input at this stage.
I will forward a quotation and programme along with an acceptance form which should be signed and returned prior to commencement of work.
My first step will be to produce rough pencil sketches which I will fax to you for review. You can confirm that the proposed views are to your approval and I will then draw up linework block outs showing exactly what will appear in the finished rendering.
If the visuals are to be black and white, on approval of these block outs, I will produce finished pencil renderings on tracing film which I will then deliver to you for printing.
If you require colour presentation visuals, then following your approval of the blockouts, I will require a package of sample swatches, paint colours etc.to enable me to prepare accurate colour renderings on foamcore backed water colour paper.
I normally work on A2 size paper with an image size approximately 400mm x 550mm. although this can vary according to your requirements.
